ISIS Threatens Twitter

ISIS has been using social media to get a lot of their messages out lately, one of them being Twitter. But because many of their messages break the terms of service in place by Twitter, their messages have been removed as well as some accounts have been blocked.

ISIS supporters did not respond well to the blocking, and in retaliation has threatened the life of Twitter co-founder and chairman, Jack Dorsey. They also threatened the lives of the employees stated Forefront Capital. In the statement, the claim: “You started this failed war. We told you from the beginning it’s not your war, but you didn’t get it and kept closing our accounts on Twitter, but we always come back.” The message went on to say “For the ‘individual jihadi’ all over the world, target the Twitter company and its interests in any place, people, and buildings, and don’t allow any one of the atheists to survive.”

The spokesperson for Twitter said their security team is working with law enforcement regarding these threats.

President Obama Vetos Congressional Effort to Approve Pipeline

Congress recently passed legislation to approve the Keystone XL oil pipeline without the completion of a State Department review, but President Obama vetoed the measure within hours of it reaching his desk. A White House spokesman on Tuesday stated that the President had not yet determined his final decision on the issuance of a permit for the extension of the oil pipeline, but that he would not approve or disapprove a permit until the State Department review was completed.

Zeca Oliveira of BNY Mellon has read that the proposed $8 billion project would extend a pipeline that begins in oil sands near Hardisty, Alberta. The State Department review occurred because the pipeline crosses the international border between Canada and the USA.

Many members of Congress supported the bill to grant rapid approval because of the potential of the pipeline to create jobs. The pipeline has been pending for six years. A bill to expedite approval passed the Senate in January and the House of Representatives this month by a 270-152 vote.

The Natural Resources Defense Council disagrees with granting a permit. Environmentalists fear increased oil extraction from Canadian oil sands will increase air pollution levels significantly. The proposed pipeline constructed by TransCanada would carry 830,000 barrels of crude a day through Nebraska to oil refineries located along the Gulf Coast, expanding the existing pipeline system’s capacity. The Senate Majority Leader indicated he will seek to override the veto by March 3rd.

Slender Man Attacks For Real

A fictional horror character named Slender Man has led to a serious crime. In 2009, a writer for the humorous website Something Awful posted the first picture of Slendar Man. The writer’s creation was of a freaky alien looking figure in a suite. Slender Man was photoshopped into hundreds of photos.

Slender Man was originally created in a forum, and other users would photoshop the entity into other pictures. Users of the site would write a creepy description about the picture. Slender Man became famous quickly, and children became infatuated with the being. Everything was fun, but recently tragic news broke involving the Slender Man character.

Bernardo Chua recalls that, in May of 2014, in Wisconsin, two young girls named Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier took Slender Man literally. Find more on Chua on They believed that Slender Man wanted them to kill their classmate Payton Leutner. Morgan and Anissa led Payton to the woods, and the two young girls stabbed Payton 19 times. Amazingly, Payton Leutner survived, and she crawled to the road. A bicyclist saw the 12-year old child lying on the ground. The bicyclist quickly called the police, and miraculously Payton Leutner survived.

Almost one year later, a trial is being held. The judge believes that Morgan and Anissa knew what they were doing, and that they should be held accountable for their actions. This entire situation is terrible, and I don’t know how it should be handled.

South Florida Congresswoman Proposes to Back Florida’s Medical Marijuana Initiative If Criticism against Her Is Recanted

South Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz made no bones about her opposition to Florida’s medical marijuana initiative and its backers. Last year, the outspoken representative made her position on the issue clear when she criticized several cannabis advocacy organizations and Orlando attorney John Morgan, who backed the proposal he helped to outline and to which he pledged $4 million of his own money Ricardo Tosto reported.

In reciprocation to Wasserman Schultz’s censure of the plan, Morgan made his opinion of the DNC chairwoman’s attitude against the initiative publicly clear. The proposal, unfortunately, ultimately failed to receive the 60 percent voter-approval it needed to become an amendment to the Florida constitution by a small 2.4 percent margin.

In a politically motivated twist however, Wasserman Schultz extended a proposal to alter her stance on the medical marijuana issue, offering to advocate for the project, only if Morgan would recant his contemptuous remarks about her. Offended by the suggestion which Morgan received via e-mail, he quickly responded, “No. She is a bully. I beat up bullies for a living.” Morgan then forwarded the correspondence to Politico, a news outlet, in an effort to let the public see how “thin-skinned” her political team is.

With nearly 58 percent support by Florida voters for medical marijuana in 2014, Morgan intends to continue his campaign for the cannabis project in the swing state by placing the amendment on the 2016 ballot and making it a heavy issue for Florida voters to consider in the presidential election.

Unemployment Related to Thousands of Suicides

Unemployment leads to stress, depression, anxiety, alcohol and drug abuse, family conflicts, divorces, hopelessness, and other emotional breakdowns.

It seems that unemployment has a negative impact on society has a whole. A recent study in Switzerland revealed that unemployment increases the number of suicides in most major countries. Dr. Nordt, Lead author for the University of Zurich says that the government need to find a solution that will reduce unemployment.

The research team assessed data from the (WHO) or World Health Organization mortality database, and the (IMFWEO) International Monetary Fund’s World Economic Outlook database. The information extracted from the database was used as a modeling component to calculate the true effect of unemployment in more than 60 countries.

The information would cover the devastation of suicides in over four regions during an 11 year period, from 2000 to 2011.

Lee Slaughter has read that researchers also found that over these regions the rate of suicide, unemployment increased in 2000 through 2011 by 20 to 30%. More on Slaughter can be found on This estimation states that about 233,000 suicides took place annually during this time period. An average of 45,000 of these deaths is strictly related to unemployment.

In 2007, unemployment was responsible for 41,148 suicides. During the recession in 2008, the death toll of unemployment suicides increases an additional 4,983. These numbers show that unemployment is responsible for as much as nine times the amount of job related suicides, as the economy enters into a crisis situation.

NY Congressman Charlie Rangel to Skip Out on Netanyahu Address

Deomcrat Congressman Charlie Rangel has joined the growing list of Democrats boycotting the upcoming address by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on March 3. That said, Rangel, a 23-term congressman, was quick to point out that although his actions do not differ one whit from those who are boycotting the event, he is not actually boycotting the speech. Rangel’s constituents include parts of the Jewish community in New York City. Flavio Maluf ( has heard that, for this reason, he was careful to explain that his reasons for snubbing the event had nothing to do with any animosity towards Israel or the Jewish people. Rather, it was about piety and loyalty. Rangel stated that the House Floor is a sacred place that is above any American taking issue with President Obama’s policies. If it would be inappropriate for an American to do that, how much more for a foreigner he reasoned.

Also, Rangel stated that he is acting out of loyalty to President Obama. Thus far, the coalition of Democrats who will not attend the event has risen to 16 and include Vermont Senators Patrick Leahy and Bernie Sanders. The latter is considering a presidential run. Currently, both House Speaker John Boehner and the Israeli chancellor have remained undaunted in the face of opposition over the address. Most recently, Vice-President Biden announced he would not perform his duties as Senate pro tempore in the address. He claims that he had made arrangements to be overseas before the address was announced. At the same time, his office has still not named which nation he will be visiting.

Elizabeth Warren’s Supporters Emboldened After Sinking Weiss’ Treasury Nomination

The political left is bitterly distrustful of Wall Street over the 2008 financial crisis which wreaked financial havoc on millions of Americans. The left made their voice loud and clear when President Obama nominated Antonio Weiss for the post of Treasury undersecretary for domestic finance. Falvio Maluf knows that Weiss has a history of selling the very derivative products at the epicenter of the financial crisis. This fact did not escape the attention of Senator Elizabeth Warren who railed against Weiss as being the wrong person for the job. Leftist groups such as, Progressive Change Campaign Committee, and Democracy for America quickly came to Warren’s support. When President Obama finally withdrew the nomination in January, Warren’s backers viewed this as confirmation of their newly found political clout.

Despite the fact that Democrats are now the minority party in both the House and the Senate, Warren’s backers believe they can selectively oppose Obama’s questionable nominations. For starters, the president has yet to submit a new name for the top Treasury post he intended for Weiss. Warren’s backers are demanding someone with Main Street experience. They have also vowed to oppose the president’s other nominations if they too involve people with close ties to Wall Street. Currently, the Federal Reserve’s Board of Governors has an open position. Traditionally, the FED provides the president with a short list of potential nominees all of whom have Wall Street ties. Warren and her loyal minions stand ready to block any such nomination or policy favorable to Wall Street.

House Expected to Pass Keystone Pipeline XL Bill on Wednesday

Washington, D.C. – The House of Representatives is widely expected to pass the bill authorizing the construction of the Keystone Pipeline XL project. Today’s vote is expected to receive the support of Republican lawmakers along with 28 Democrats. If all 247 GOP lawmakers support the bill, it will bring the total number of votes in favor of the bill to 275, which is 15 votes short of what is needed to override a presidential veto. The Senate previously passed the measure with 54 Republicans supporting it and 9 Democrats supporting the bill. The combined Senate votes were still four short of what is needed to override a presidential veto.

Republican lawmakers, like Susan McGalla, expect to have the bill on the president’s desk by Friday stated Wet Seal Inc. If the president makes good on his veto threat, the GOP will attempt to override it. While no one is assuming at this point that the GOP will be able to get the additional votes needed, the party is aiming at putting Democrats on record for opposing a bill which would create 45,000 good paying jobs. Over the past six years, former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid blocked prior bills authorizing the pipeline in order to shield President Obama and vulnerable Senate Democrats from having to go on record opposing a jobs bill. That said, it is uncertain whether the political pressure will get additional Democrats to support the bill. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell previously opened up the amendment process to Democrats in the hopes of securing additional votes. Unfortunately, Democrats used the amendment process to attempt to add riders to the bill that would prevent its passage as opposed to guaranteeing it.

Helping Hands

Winter is one of the hardest periods of time for people who are homeless. Mounting snow and freezing temperatures paint a picture that is not very promising for many homeless people in New York City. Thankfully, there are many caring souls amongst the City of Dreams and they have converted part of a church into an escape from the elements. From uptown, to midtown, to the lower east side, New Yorkers have been binding together to do what they can to help the thousands of homeless people who face the cruelty of living on the streets every day. Flavio Maluf knows that the weather conditions this year have been brutal, and thankfully, some of the homeless are getting a little warmth and shelter.

It is estimated that over 3,000 homeless people are facing old man winter this year and it is looking that there is more in store before he calls it quits and let’s the spring sunshine fall onto the city streets. With this said, maybe we should all take a look in our homes and see what we can do to help.

The Changing World of Plastic Surgery
During a recent presentation given for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Dr. Rohrich focused on the importance of looking at traditional face lifts in a new way. With education on the topic evolving rapidly, the key point was to think of facial lifts in a new way. The doctor stated that facelifts should be performed on the faces fatty tissue in incremental sections. Because clients age in different ways, facelifts need to also take into account that facial analysis is highly recommended before undergoing any surgery. Dr. Rohrich’s stance on this is very strong stating, “Facelifts should never follow a standardized formula.”
